According tomedia slashGear, AutoPets’ new product Feeder-Robot is expected to make life easier for cat owners, allowing them to automatically feed cats by scheduling feeding times and ensuring that the right amount of food is distributed. AutoPets also offers a companion app to monitor cat eating habits.
Feeder-Robot is an automatic cat feeder that is more advanced than an older one. The cat feeder includes a control unit built into the device and will soon be used with the upcoming Whisker app. The user can program the device to feed the cat in the right part at the right time.
The device was built with potential problems in mind – AutoPets says its automatic cat feeder includes tests for food, although it also includes anti-jamming technology. Users who are concerned about potential problems out there can also choose to set Feeder-Robot to gravity feeding mode to serve food continuously.
In addition to alerts issued using a companion app, the LED lights on the device also indicate when food is running out. As expected, the app offers more customization options than built-in controls, including weekly and monthly insight into the cat’s feeding habits. Users can also use the app to release candy or snacks for cats.
The app is the same as the one used to control and manage the company’s Litter-Robot product, which is also designed for cat owners. AutoPets notes that this feeder can also be used to feed puppies that eat only a small amount of rough food (the machine can hold 25 cups).
Feeder-Robot is now available on AutoPets’s website for $249.
