Samsung today unveiled its new mobile SSD product, the T7 Touch, with a 500GB, 1TB or 2TB option. According to Samsung, the SSD T7 Touch combines speed with a streamlined design to support USB 3.2 Gen 2. With a read speed of up to 1050MB/s, a write speed of up to 1000MB/s, the T7 Touch is twice as fast as the T5 and 9.5 times faster than a conventional mechanical hard drive.
The T7 Touch weighs only 58 grams and measures 3.3 x 3.3 x 0.3 inches.
Touch in T7 Touch refers to the SSD’s built-in fingerprint recognition sensor that supports password protection and AES 256-bit hardware encryption. Fingerprint identification sensors support the entry of up to 4 sets of fingerprints.
The T7 Touch costs $130, $230, and $400, respectively, and randomly offers USB-C to USB-C and USB-C to USB-A cables, compatible with Windows and Macs.
