Huawei announces OpenEuler source code for CentOS-based Linux distribution

Huawei has announced the source code for OpenEuler, a CentOS-based Linux distribution, which was published on Gitea, china’s hosting platform. OpenEuler was announced by Huawei in response to U.S. sanctions last September, as U.S. exports restricted Huawei’s ability to use Windows and Android/Google services for new devices.

OpenEuler consists mainly of two code warehouses: the code warehouse openEuler and the package warehouse src-openeuler. The main components of openEuler are iSulad, a lightweight container runtime daemon designed for IOT and cloud infrastructure, and A-Tune, an AI-based operating system performance tuning software.
