For GNU/Linux, macOS and Windows platforms, Opera Software today unveiled its first Opera Web Browser Stable Update in 2020, with a version number rising to 66. Based on the latest chromium version, Opera 66 focuses on improvements to the user interface, including easier access to sidebars, faster reopening of unexpectedly closed tabs, and more.
“We provide a simple solution for this without having to go to the full history section,” Joanna Czajka of Opera Software wrote in the update log. When you click the clock icon with history, the browser asks if you want to reopen the most recently closed tab. If you click Yes, they will appear again as if you had never turned them off. “
Opera 66 also optimizes the sidebar extension operation so that you don’t need to create a second column when adding sidebar extensions. As a result, the sidebar plug-in is now integrated into the main sidebar panel and will automatically appear at the bottom of the sidebar. Opera 66 is based on Chromium 79.0.3945.79 and has undertaken a number of other minor fixes and improvements to speed browsing and make Web browsers more stable and reliable for everyday tasks.
