Iran admits accidentalshooting of Ukrainian airliner due to operational error

According to CCTV news reports, Iranian state television, Iran’s military admitted that due to operational errors, accidentally shot down the Ukrainian airlines. On January 8, a Ukrainian passenger plane crashed near TheKhomeheny International Airport in Tehran, Iran, on a Boeing 737. All 167 passengers and nine crew members were on board.

According to earlier information, the Boeing 737 crashed soon after take-off. At the time, initial reports said a technical problem caused the crash.

Initial reports said that when the plane took off early and flew to an altitude of 8,000 feet (about 2,400 meters), its data disappeared from radar and crashed from high altitude. The pilot did not receive a radio message about the abnormality.

The black boxes, including the flight data recorder and cockpit voice recorder, were then found and delivered to the investigation team.

According to witnesses, the plane was on fire when it fell and exploded when it collided with the ground. Both devices were physically damaged due to the fire, but the memory was available.
