Tesla has repeatedly promised (and as a selling point) to fully autonomously autonomously drive a car without driver intervention. But the feature is still out of line, raising questions about whether Tesla still has the strength to deliver on that promise. But the latest clues suggest that fully autonomous driving is not far away.
Now, Elon Musk, Tesla’s chief executive, said on Twitter that the feature would be available “soon.” Musk said the “fully autonomous driving” feature was valuable and would add tens of thousands of dollars to Tesla’s value and allow the car to make money for its owners through the Telsa online taxi service.
Tesla has now implemented autonomous driving on the highway, but urban roads are a more challenging driving environment for Tesla. But it remains to be seen whether Tesla will be able to achieve the toughest 5 per cent, after which it still needs to convince regulators about the safety of driverless cars.
There is still no clear time frame for the launch , but Musk has previously said Tesla’s network service will be available in 2020, meaning it will be available by the end of the year.
