Based on the award-winning Base Station wireless charging panel, Nomad, a well-known accessory manufacturer, has launched an enhanced version, the Base Station Pro, designed to provide wireless charging for up to three devices. The product was released at the end of 2019 and is scheduled to go on sale earlier this year, withmedia Apple Insider recently bringing in a review of the wireless charging panel.
In user reviews for the Apple Insider community, Nomad’s previous launch of the Base Station Hub Edition and base Station Apple Watch have both had a very good reputation. The same is true of the Base Station Pro, which is well-made and stylish.
The Base Station Pro looks very similar to the Base Station, but it’s getting bigger. But in fact, the structure inside the fuselage is completely different. A new layer of printed Qi coils has been added under the surface of Horween leather, which is very different from the ready-made Qi coils common in many other chargers. The addition of this layer of coil sits to support FreePower, a technology developed by Aira to enable multiple devices to be freely placed and charged.
Thanks to FreePower technology, any Qi device can be recharged on the Base Station Pro at will, regardless of whether the device should be placed in a central position above the Qi coil. And the Base Station Pro isn’t just for one device, it’s about wireless charging three devices that are placed at the same time.
So it could be three iPhones, two iPhones plus an AirPods, or a mobile power combination with iPhones and AirPods. They can be placed anywhere in the charger, giving you a very natural and comfortable feel. The three status indicators on the front panel light up to tell you how many devices are currently on display and charging.
Nomad has yet to release a booking page for Base Station Pro, which they hope will be available after the launch. But Nomad said it was ready and expected to accept bookings in early 2020.
