On January 11th Wang Chuanfu, CHAIRMAN and president of BYD (002594), revealed at the China Electric Vehicle 100 Forum (2020) that BYD’s recently developed “blade battery” will be mass-produced for the first time in March 2020. The blade battery “volume than energy density” than the traditional iron battery is 50% higher, BYD “Han” will be equipped with this “blade battery” of the first model, BYD “Han” will be launched in June 2020, a 600 km range.
From a safety point of view, Mr Wang said, iron batteries are better batteries in passenger cars. In recent years, BYD has developed a “blade battery” – an iron battery product that will be mass-produced for the first time at its Chongqing plant in March. Chongqing plant is a modern power battery factory, the newly introduced blade battery “volume than energy density” compared to the traditional iron battery increased by 50%, with high safety, long life and so on, the vehicle life of more than a million kilometers. The first model on the Blade Battery will be BYD’s Han, which will be available in June and will last 600 kilometers.
