Tesla to set up China research and development center to create “Chinese wind” Tesla

Tesla will build a research and development center in China to recruit talented designers to create the original “Chinese style” Tesla, according to an article published by the official WeChat subscription number.

In July 2018, Tesla Super plant was confirmed to be located in Shanghai, which provides financing for Tesla in addition to the preferential treatment of wholly foreign-owned plants. At the end of 2018, with the strong support of the Shanghai municipal government, some banks in Shanghai provided low-interest loans to Tesla’s Shanghai plant.

More than a year later, on January 7, 2020, Musk arrived in Shanghai from the United States to attend the delivery of the home-made Model 3 to 10 social owners and officially launch the Model Y project.
