On January 16th Ikea’s official microblog gyptation issued a recall notice, and its sale of indian-made “TROLIGTVIS” detected an excess carcinogen, resulting in a global recall of the product. Ikea said it had recently received testing reports that the amount of phthalates (DBBs) in the “Trulevis Travel Cup” produced in India may have exceeded the required limits.

The reason for the product recall is that phthalates (DBBs) in the travel cup sproducing in India may have moved more than the required limits.

It is understood that phthalates (DBP) is the most commonly used plasticizer of PVC, can make the product has good softness, but volatile and water extraction is larger, and may cause harm to the human body.

Studies have shown that phthalates play a role similar to estrogen in humans and animals, can interfere with endocrine, so that men’s semen and sperm count decreased, low sperm motor ability, sperm morphology abnormalities, serious causes of testicular cancer, is one of the possible causes of male reproductive problems.

It is reported that the Trulevis Travel Cup has been on sale since October 2019, and IKEA urges customers with Trulevis Travel Cups marked “Made in India” to return the product to any IKEA store and receive a full refund (no shopping voucher required).

IKEA Global Recalls TROLIGTVIS Trulevis Travel Cup

Ikea urged all customers who purchased the “Made in India” TROLIGTVIS Trulevis Travel Cup to stop using the product as soon as possible, as recent test reports suggested that the product could migrate chemicals that exceeded the specified limits. Therefore, IKEA urges customers who have this travel cup to return the product to any IKEA store: the well receives a full refund.

IKEA takes product safety very seriously. All IKEA products are tested and comply with applicable standards and regulations, as well as IKEA’s own corporate standards. A recent inspection report received by IKEA indicates that the amount of phthalates (DBP) in the TROL IGTMIS Trulevis travel cup produced in India may exceed the required limits.
