Netflix is known for spending a lot of money on original content each year, according to techspot. By 2020, the streaming video giant has no plans to deviate from that strategy. Netflix will spend $17.3 billion on original content production by 2020, according to a new estimate by BMO Capital Markets. That’s $2 billion more than the $15.3 billion in 2019,
Last year Netflix launched original content including “The Irishman,” “The Witcher,” “The Wheel Party,” and a new season of Black Mirror and Stranger Things.
BMO estimates that Netflix will spend about $26 billion a year on its original content by 2028.
In an interview with The Wrap, a Netflix spokesman remained silent on the topic. However, the company will release its fourth-quarter 2019 earnings report on January 21. In a conference call with investors, it is expected to make new comments on the subject.
