Malaysia’s Prime Minister Mahathir said preparations for the deployment of 5G have been progressing well since the 5G technology exhibition was held in April last year and are expected to launch 5G commercial services in the third quarter of this year as planned,media reported. In response, Mr Mahathir said: “The launch of 5G business services will help Malaysia’s economy achieve sustainable development and share prosperity for its people.” At the same time, this will ensure that we achieve the goal of providing a decent standard of living for every citizen of the country by 2030. “
He pointed out that China, the United States, South Korea and other countries have launched 5G services, not only to make the use of existing applications more smooth, but also to accelerate the realization of self-driving, remote surgery and so on. At the economic level, 5G technology fosters innovative growth, bringing new opportunities to industry, society and individuals in the fields of agriculture, education, healthcare, manufacturing, intelligent transportation and tourism.
According to reports, the 5G exhibition program identified a total of 100 specific projects, of which more than 72 projects have been launched in Malaysia’s capital Kuala Lumpur and other areas.
