Garmin’s Tactix Delta is the latest in a series of rugged military smartwatches, according tomedia. The new generation of Tactix has a 1.4-inch display and a power management feature that lets device root users predict battery life by allowing you to turn the settings on and off. One new feature of Tactix is stealth mode, which disables storing and sharing wearer information completely, and adds a death switch that can be set to clear all device memory.
In addition to the new privacy features, Garmin brings back a range of “tactical features”, such as the Jumpmaster model — designed to help guide skydivers to their goals, dual-position GPS — that can display two coordinate systems on a single screen.
As a smartwatch, it naturally also has some smartwatch features, and the Garmin Tactix Delta is known to store up to 2,000 songs, support Garmin Pay, and be set to receive notifications from paired smartwatches. Garmin says devices can last up to 21 days when they’re in smartwatch mode and up to 80 days in battery-protected mode.
Garmin Tactix Delta is reportedto at $899.99.
