Amazon CEO and world’s richest man Jeff Bezos has traveled to India to discuss business. There, he announced that he would achieve “zero emissions” for Amazon’s local distribution by 2025. Amazon is planned to launch at least 10,000 human-electric vehicles, including three- and four-wheeled vehicles. In the warm-up video, Bezos drives a three-wheeled electric delivery prototype with Indian employees.
Under India’s policy, the prerequisite for receiving energy-saving subsidies is to ensure that India makes at least 50 per cent of its components. As a result, Amazon is engaging with local manufacturers to find contract partners.
Last year, Amazon is understood to have ordered 100,000 pure-electric trucks from India’s Rivian.
In addition, on the trip to India, Bezos was pleased to say that if Amazon doesn’t succeed, I’ll be a happy programmer somewhere.
