Jerret West, a former vice president of marketing for Netflix Asia Pacific, is returning to Microsoft as Xbox’s chief marketing officer,media reported. Earlier today, netizen Klobrille shared the story on Twitter, sparking some interesting thoughts. First, Jerret West is no stranger to Xbox. From 2003 to 2011, he worked in the department for eight years, including three years as Marketing Director.

West was in charge of global marketing for Xbox LIVE subscriptions at the time, and during an interview in 2020, he gave his views on the new social media app on Xbox 360, including Netfilx.
Today, Microsoft is bigger than ever, and the new Xbox Game Pass has overshadowed xbox Live Gold subscriptions.
Previously, Xbox Game Pass was often referred to by the media as “Netflix in the video game space.” With the return of Netflix’s marketing executive and taking charge of the Xbox business, this is important for Microsoft’s video game division.
According to West’s LinkedIn, it currently manages a 200-person global team with more than $1 billion in marketing costs.
