ByteDance decides to donate $200 million to Red Cross Foundation to fight outbreak of the virus

On January 25, ByteDance announced that it had decided to donate 200 million yuan to the China Red Cross Foundation to set up a special fund for humanitarian assistance for medical personnel in the prevention and control of pneumonia outbreaks fighting the new coronary virus infection. All medical personnel involved in the prevention and treatment of new types of pneumonia in the first line will receive 100,000 yuan in assistance if they are unfortunately infected, and up to 1 million yuan if they have made other significant contributions or pay.

The specific rescue rules will be published and implemented by the China Red Cross Foundation. It is hoped that this safeguard fund will complement the Government’s protection and provide help and support to medical staff on the front line.
