The annual Game Developers Conference (GDC) conducts a survey of game developers before it is officially held. This year’s survey shows that game developers are more interested in developing games for PS5. The exact percentage is: PS5 (38%) and Switch (37%) and Xbox Series X (25%). Of course, pCs are still the first platform, with a ratio of 50%.
The survey also asked whether developers were focused on the next generation or the contemporary platform, or both. Unsurprisingly, the largest number of developers chose both, at 34%, and only 5% chose to focus on the next generation platform.
Interestingly, the survey also asked about the pc digital mall controversy. According to the survey, most developers think Steam is too much to draw 30%, 15% commission is enough, and only 6% of developers are satisfied with Steam’s current pumping strategy.
In addition, 40 percent of respondents said Epic Mall would be successful in the long run, 35 percent said “probably,” 18 percent said “no” and only 7 percent responded directly to “no.”
