New York prosecutors have evidence that Jeff Bezos’ girlfriend, Lauren Sanchez, leaked her affair with Bezos to her brother, Michael Sanchez, according tomedia. Michael then reportedly sold the photos to The National Enquirer, which later published a story about Lauren’s affair with Bezos in January last year.
This week, Bezos’s events are back in the spotlight. According to the Guardian, Saudi Arabia is likely to have hacked into Jeff Bezos’ mobile phone in May 2018. According to the theory, Bezos’ cell phone was attacked after receiving a WhatsApp message containing a malicious video file from Saudi Arabia’s Crown Prince Mohammed bin Salman (MBS).
According to the Guardian, Bezos apparently stole a large amount of data hours after clicking on the video. Vice’s report on the hacking from security forensics firm FTI Consulting supports this speculation.
The report also includes a screenshot of the misogyny sent to Bezos by MBS in November 2018, showing the woman appearing to look like Laura Sanchez. The report suggests that the images mean MBS may have known about the matter before it became public in early 2019.
However, some security experts believe the FTI report does not prove that the Saudis hacked Bezos’s phone. This is largely based on coincidence, not evidence of Bezos’s data flowbackbacks back to Saudi Arabia.
American Media, the owner of National Enquirer, insisted it had received information about the matter from Michael Sanchez, not Saudi Arabia, and reiterated that position in a statement published by the New York Times yesterday. Michael Sanchez is understood to be the main source of the National Enquirer report.
