As an all-electric model for markets such as Europe, Honda e has been ready for pre-order since the 2019 Frankfurt Motor Show and is expected to be delivered in the summer of 2020. Recently,media reported that Honda related people said that the future will not rule out based on Honda e to launch the Type R high-performance version of the model. Built on a new electric platform, Honda e is positioned as a pure electric 5-door, four-seater mini-car, mainly for urban commuters, with a turning radius of only 4.3 meters, making the smaller electric car more flexible.
At present, Honda e has been in many countries in Europe to carry out online booking services, the number of orders more than 40,000.
As Honda’s electric car for Europe and other regions, Honda e is designed to continue the overall style of the prototype concept car, with a rounded, compact form factor with a large number of round elements, creating a very lovely image.
The interior is one of Honda’s biggest highlights, with five screens in the control section and a unique sense of technology that integrates driving and entertainment information. In terms of configuration, honda e offers a wide range of features including fixed-speed cruises, voice control, steering wheel heating, lane offset warning, and more.
On the power, the new car is equipped with two electric motors with different high and low power, the maximum horsepower is 136 hp and 154 hp, the peak torque reaches 315 Nm, rear-wheel drive, 100 km acceleration is less than 8 seconds. Equipped with panasonic’s 35.5 kWh battery pack, it takes only 30 minutes to charge up to 80% of the battery and has a range of up to 220km.
To achieve a 50:50 before-and-after counterweight ratio, Honda engineers placed the 35.5kWh lithium-ion battery pack in the center of the vehicle’s front and rear axles and equipped the battery pack with a water-cooled system for more efficient cooling performance.
