In 2016, Google debuted App Maker, a low-code development environment app that could compete with Microsoft’s PowerApps, media reported. It is understood that Google App Maker allows IT developers and enthusiasts to develop applications to improve workflow in G Suite’s low-code development environment.
However, Google announced that the App Maker will close on January 19, 2021. For now, the existing App Maker app will continue to work. However, App Maker is no longer actively developed, so don’t expect any updates from Google. From April 15, developers will no longer be able to create new App Maker for business. By January 19 next year, all existing App Maker apps will stop working.
Unfortunately, developers will not be able to migrate an already developed application directly to another platform. But Google has recommended that they use AppSheet, a new codeless tool similar to App Maker.
