Sudden Windows Update updates in normal operations such as games, offices, etc. are nothing new, but with windows 10 system version changes this situation is less and less likely to occur. But that doesn’t mean Windows Update isn’t a problem, with a DJ recently posting on Reddit that Microsoft’s botched update was a hit.
In a Reddit post he wrote: “Help! S.O.S !!! I’m a DJ, I have a show after 4 hours, and Windows Update has been going on for more than 2 hours and it’s stuck at 27% for nearly 20 minutes! Does anyone know how to stop the update and continue it tomorrow? Please help me! “A photo was also attached to the post showing windows Update update cards at 27%.
The DJ said that while there were a number of recovery methods available, none of them were not at risk at all, and he managed to speed up the update process by connecting an Ethernet cable. Theoretically, the speed of an Internet connection has no effect on this stage of the update process, because all required files are typically downloaded when the device is online (before the computer is restarted and the update itself begins).
“Thank you very much,” he wrote in a follow-up post. I try to connect the Ethernet cable and then jump to 50%. After the restart, jump to 89%, then 91%, and then the update is complete. I hope you all have a pleasant weekend and thank you for all the tips and help you have provided. He then said he would buy a spare laptop next Monday.
