According to Nintendo’s latest quarterly results (as of 2019.9.30), total sales of their hardware devices reached 752 million units, including 429.67 million handhelds and 322.54 million home consoles. Nintendo’s biggest success on the 7th-generation platform is the NDS and home console Wii. NDS sold 1. 5.4 billion units, while Wii sold 102 million units. Their 8th-generation platform sproks have fallen sharply, with 3DS selling only half of the NDS, with 75.45million consoles sold, while the Wii U sold almost a tenth of the Wii’s, with 13.56 million units sold.
The second-ranked Game Boy sold 118.69 million units because of multiple versions that led to a longer life span.
Nintendo’s first home console, the NeS, sold 61.91 million units, while its next, The Super Famicom In Japan, sold 49.1 million units. Nintendo 64 sold 32.93 million units.
Nintendo’s latest platform, the NS, is a hybrid console that can be used as both a home console and a handheld device. Nintendo has shipped 41.67 million Switch units since its launch in March 2017.
