On January 29th, local time in Chicago, Boeing announced that it would donate 250,000 medical-grade masks to China. Boeing said most of the supplies will be shipped directly to local medical facilities in Wuhan, Hubei Province, and some to Zhejiang Zhoushan, where Boeing’s only overseas completion and delivery center is located, to support local medical institutions.
“We are always concerned about all the people affected by the coronavirus in China,” said Dave Calhoun, Boeing’s president and CEO. We hope to be able to help limit the spread of the virus and reduce the burden on local health workers. ”
The health and safety of Boeing employees and their families is also a major concern for the company. Boeing said it would continue to monitor the situation closely and advised employees to heed all local health and safety warnings.
As of today, the company has provided 25,000 medical-grade masks to chinese employees.
