EU Council votes to approve Brexit deal, Brexit is final

Brexit is finally “ready”! According to CCTV, the European Council voted on the 30th local time to approve the Brexit agreement, which is the last step in the Brexit ratification process, the United Kingdom will officially leave the European Union on January 31st at 23:00 GMT. Earlier today, the plenary session of the European Parliament voted to approve the Brexit deal on the 29th local time, bringing the process of Britain’s departure from the European Union a step closer to the end.

Parliament passed the Brexit deal by 621 votes in favour, 49 against and 13 abstentions.

European Commission President Jean-Claude von der Leyen said he was considering a zero-tariff, zero-quota free trade agreement, which would be a unique agreement that no other FTA would offer similar access to the EU single market.

In accordance with established procedures, after the European Parliament voted to approve the Brexit agreement on the 30th, thus completing all the legal process of the EU to ratify the Brexit agreement. Under the deal, Britain will formally leave the Eu on January 31.
