Amazon CEO Jeff Bezos has become richer. Amazon, the largest U.S. e-commerce company, reported fourth-quarter results that beat Wall Street expectations, spurring a 12 percent jump to $2,100.
Bezos, already the world’s richest man, added $13.2 billion in fortunes in about 15 minutes. At current share prices, his net worth is about $129.5 billion, according to the Bloomberg Billionaires Index.
Bezos, 56, owns about 12 percent of Amazon’s shares and owns most of his assets. His shares in The Unlisted Company Blue Origin are worth about $6.2billion. Thursday’s surge added more than $90 billion to Amazon’s market value and more than $1 trillion.
His ex-wife, MacKenzie Bezos, 49, also has reason to celebrate, as she owns about 4 per cent of Amazon. She ranks 24th on the world’s rich list with a fortune of $37.1 billion.
