WHO recommends new coronary pneumonia named 2019-nCoV acute respiratory disease

According to the official social media account of the World Health Organization, WHO has temporarily named the new coronavirus “2019-nCoV”, the final name of which will be decided by the International Committee on Virus Classification. The World Health Organization also recommends that pneumonia with the new coronavirus infection be named “2019-nCoV Acute Respiratory Disease” (“2019-nCoV acute respiratory disease”).

On the evening of January 30, local time, WHO Director-General Tedros held a press conference in Geneva to explain that the outbreak of pneumonia with the new coronavirus infection has constituted a public health emergency of international concern. Tedros stressed that WHO does not support or even oppose travel or trade bans against China.
