Sunday’s Super Bowl is expected to be a greener viewing experience. Because up to 50,000 aluminum cups will replace plastic containers filled with alcoholic beverages, even PepsiCo will use aluminum beverage cups. It is not clear how environmentally friendly the new policy is, but the abandonment of disposable cups is clearly commendable.

It is understood that in 2019 the Welford Road Stadium, the home of Leicester Tigers, will already start using recyclable cups to reduce waste during matches.
Now, 18,000 pints of beer sold during each race have become greener. In fact, aluminum is becoming a more popular beverage container, preventing plastic pollution from clogging the ocean.
During last year’s Super Bowl, the NFL reportedly sent all its waste to landfills, successfully achieving the goal of composting, reusing and recycling 91% of the remaining waste left by spectators that day.
Although the manufacturing process of new aluminum cans is more energy-intensive than the manufacture of new plastics. However, aluminum is much better than plastic in terms of recyclable and reusable performance.
