Amazon mistakenly sent a fitness machine weighing no less than 29 kilograms to a 79-year-old man from Bristol who refused to take the package back before and after he had his door, according tomedia reports. Tony Harding, a pensioner, says he actually ordered a generation of 20kg of logs, but didn’t expect to send a 29kg fitness machine.
When the delivery driver came with the box, Harding asked to check if someone nearby had ordered the gym, only to be told he had to contact Amazon because he was only responsible for the delivery and not the return.
Interestingly, when Harding contacted Amazon for a request to send its 20-kilogram logs, Amazon employees agreed but refused to retrieve the machine.
“I was also told that if no one came to pick up the bike within 48 hours, I would be free to dispose of it as long as I felt it was appropriate. Harding said.
It is understood that Amazon did not agree to send someone to retrieve the big courier until the incident was reported in the media. The company said it was investigating the incident with delivery partners and acted appropriately, but did not provide further details.
