Jeep is expanding its product range in the U.S. market, media CNET reported. This time, however, the new product is not a car, but an electric bicycle. Jeep’s e-bike debuted in its Super Bowl ad, with Bill Murray driving Jeep Gladiator to celebrate “Groundhog Day.” In addition, Jeep has launched a consumer website that provides the first information on the new e-bikes.
According to Jeep, the e-bike has features similar to another E-Bike brand, QuietKat. This special bike will come with a 750-watt motor and a battery that provides 40 miles of range. Jeep did not provide additional technical specifications and did not immediately respond to a request for comment.
This electric bike is equipped with QuietKat’s Fire-Link suspension, four-link mechanism and four-piston hydraulic brakes. Jeep and QuietKat promise that this rugged electric bike will be the perfect companion for Jeep at the end of the off-road road, but it’s still a great place for adventure.
Jeep has actually sold e-bikes before, but this will be their first time in the U.S. A quick search revealed that the company had previously sold e-bikes in South Africa. Although Jeep has not yet provided any additional information, the company expects to provide more information this spring, and the e-bike will be available in June.
