Netmarketshare statistics show a big increase in Windows 10 market share

Netmarketshare released its January 2020 desktop operating system and browser market share statistics report. The data showed a big jump in Windows 10’s market share, while Chrome’s market share declined slightly. As Windows 7 support ends, more and more users are switching to Windows 10. The operating system currently has a market share of 57.08 percent, followed by Windows 7 with 25.66 percent. Windows 8.1 was third with a market share of 3.38%, followed by macOS X 10.14 with a market share of 3.12%.

On the browser side, Google Chrome’s market share has declined slightly. The web browser now has a market share of 66.93 per cent, followed by Mozilla Firefox with 8.12 per cent. Microsoft Internet Explorer and Edge Browsers ranked third and fourth, respectively, with market share of 7.02% and 6.60%.
