One of the most anticipated things about the Chevrolet 2020 mid-engine Corvette C8 is what it’s expected to be at the New North circuit, according tomedia. Earlier this week, Chevrolet released a trailer for a new record for the development of the C8. Footage of the New North circuit appears in this video and there is a time reading — 7:29.9.
The C8 7 minutes 29.9 seconds of lap speed performance is similar to Chevrolet’s other model, the Camaro ZL1, the latter’s score of 7 minutes 29.6 seconds, and ZL1 1LE faster, 7 minutes 16.04 seconds. Since Chevrolet has never officially announced the speed of any C7 Corvette, it is unfortunate that there are no comparable objects.
But it’s worth noting that this is just the “basic” version of the new Corvette’s lap score. Chevrolet will also be offering a higher-performance version in the future, so the result is bound to be even better. In addition, given that the time is now uncertified and can be done by a prototype, there is room for improvement.
