Five years later, AMD re-sponsored F1 Ferrari in 2018 and printed the brand LOGO on the two-year-old Ferrari F1. This week, AMD went one step further, announcing its tie-up with Mercedes-Benz. AMD said it was a multi-year partnership and AMD LOGO would also be available in the Maypen team’s 2020 season, including racing, driver’s clothing, team uniforms, team workrooms and more.
In addition, AMD will provide The Maypen fleet with products based on EPYC servers and Ryzen Pro workstation notebooks to optimize their workflow.
The Mercedes-AMG Petronas One Formula Team is actually the Mercedes-AMG Petronas Team, with the current main drivers being Hamilton and Bottas. In the 2019 season, Hamilton and Bottas were runner-up in the Driver of the Year. Hamilton is just seven points and one championship behind reigning champion Schumacher.
We know that F1 is a money-burning sport, and AMD’s ability to re-sponsor Ferrari and Mayben has something to do with the significant improvement in revenue in recent years.
