Major Microsoft Tweaks: Panos is responsible for both hardware and Windows Experiences

Today, Microsoft announced a major shake-up in its internal architecture. The biggest adjustment announced today is the Experiences and Devices team, led by Rajesh Jha. According tomedia ZDNet, Microsoft announced the following adjustments:

Panos Panay: Now in charge of the Windows Experiences Group and the Hardware Group. The new division is called Devices and Windows Group, which was previously headed by Joe Belfiore.

Panos Panay continues to report to Rajesh Jha, executive vice president of TheExperiences and Devices Group

Joe Belfiore and Ales Holecek will lead the Office Experience Group (OXO) team as the product/engineering team.

Joe Belfiore will continue to lead Microsoft News and other mobile apps on iOS and Android.

Eran Megiddo, Vice President of Products and Education for Windows, will lead the Modern Life Experiences (MLX) and Education Group.

Brian Macdonald, currently in charge of Teams, will retire from Microsoft

Jeff Tepper will be in charge of Teams, SharePoint and OneDrive

CVP Kirk Koenigsbauer of Microsoft 365 will become Chief Operating Officer of Rajesh Jha.

As the list of adjustments above shows, first the Windows Experiences Group has been incorporated under Panos Management, which will enable great Surface devices in the future. Second, hand Teams to Jeff Tepper, who already leads OneDrive and SharePoint.
