Twitter confirmed friday that the official Twitter accounts of social media giant Facebook and its Messenger platform have been hacked. In a statement, a Twitter spokesman said the accounts had been hacked through third-party platforms.
A Twitter spokesman said: “We immediately locked down stolen accounts as soon as we found out about the issue and are currently working with our Facebook partners to recover them.” “
Facebook also confirmed on Friday that some of its official social media accounts had been hacked.
Joe Osborne, a Facebook spokesman, said: “Some of our corporate social accounts have been briefly hacked, but we have protected and restored access. “
Twitter CEO Jack Dorsey’s personal account was hacked last August, causing unauthorized people to send public tweets to their 4 million followers, including racial slurs and cursed comments, before Twitter protected the account.
