Lenovo last year launched a very slender, compact, very much like lipstick charger, many people call it “lipstick power”, presumably everyone must still remember, it is the thinkplus 65W USB-C charger. Lenovo recently introduced the “mini lipstick” – thinkplus 45W USB PD charger PA45, the new model is also slender body, mini body, very much like lipstick.

Open the package and you’ll see the thinkplus mini charger and data cable at a glance. The plastic lining is used to act as a fixation and protection.
There are four kinds of items with charger, data cable, instruction manual and magic tape.
The attached data cable is a 1.8m long USB-C to USB-C cable with the word “thinkplus” indented at both ends.
Thinkplus mini charger is shaped like a box, very slender, like a lipstick. The surface uses two different material sympathies, a matte waist and a “thinkplus” Logo with a small red dot element.
The output interface face and pin side face are bright surface material, the charger is equipped with a USB-C output interface.

The thinkplus mini charger weighs about 92g and is compact and lightweight, with easy to carry.
Protocol detection using the ChargerLAB Power-Z KT001 tester, the thinkplus mini charger supports Apple 2.4A, DCP protocols, and QC2.0, QC3.0 fast charge.
In addition, the charger also supports USB PD3.0 fast charging, with 5V/3A, 9V/3A, 12V/3A, 15V/3A, 20V/2.25A five output gear.

Ultrasonic welding process at the input, can be disassembled without loss, the entire PCBA module perimeter using metal heat sink wrap, play a uniform role in cooling, to avoid the charger in the case of heavy load local overheating.
The pins are secured with two screws and a plastic plate, inside two pieces of metal shrapnel that reveal only part of the current in contact with the PCB board.
Apart the heat sink on the periphery of the PCBA module, you can see that the interior uses a combination of pcb board design, compact structure. In the transformer position attached a heat guide pad, the outer layer by the “U” type metal sheet and insulation plate composition, wherein “U” type insulated plastic plate corresponding to the position of the thermal pad using hollow treatment, conducive to the transformer heat directly to the metal heat sink.
Another separate heat sink is used for the heat dissipation of the patch components, which is also combined with a combination of metal sheets and plastic insulation plates, and a thermal pad is attached to the appropriate position.
Delayfuses, safety X capacitors, common mode inductors, and primary filter electrolytic capacitors can be seen on the input.
On the left side of the figure are two blue Y capacitors, welded on both sides of the PCB board, the middle is a transformer, the above is attached to the thermal pad, the right side by side of the three primary filter electrolytic capacitor, between the dispensing treatment.
The side PCB board is welded vertically on the main PCB board, and part of the hollowing gives the transformer space to reduce the volume of the product, and a large amount of glue is fixed and auxiliary heat dissipation.
The same design is on the other side, and two rectifier bridges can be seen on this side.

On the output is a USB-C interface, two solid-state capacitors, one of which is a jacket black insulated plastic skin, acting as an insulation effect.
Remove the side PCB panel, which is welded with the safety X capacitor, the common mode inductor, and the blue Y capacitor.
Remove the PCB panel on the other side and find a fourth electrolytic capacitor on the primary side, four working side-by-side, and a solid-state capacitor and a Y capacitor on the secondary side.
Remove the PCB boards on both sides to make it easy for us to observe all the components, and we’ll learn more about them from the inputs.

The welding layout on the back of the master PCB board is clear, the primary secondary end dividing line is obvious, there is sufficient safety interval, and a photocoupler spans between the primary secondarys. From the PCB board logo can be seen, the manufacturer is Nanjing Brand e-Technology Co., Ltd.
LD5763GS primary master chip from Tongjia. This is a green mode PWM chip. It minimizes the number of components, circuit space, and reduces the overall material cost of power applications. With HV start-up, green mode power-saving operation and internal slope compensation, soft start function minimizes power consumption and improves system performance.
At the same time, Tongjia LD5763GS also has complete protection functions such as OPP (overpower protection), OVP (overvoltage protection), fast OSCP (output short-circuit protection) and undervoltage/undervoltage protection to prevent circuit damage in exceptional cases.
