Analyst Benji-Sales recently tweeted that Sony and Microsoft would each acquire at least one more gaming studio before the next-generation console went public. The reason is that in the current environment, “content is king”, especially in the future of various subscription services will be more and more intense competition.
Then there was speculation that Microsoft and Sony were likely to buy Techland, the developer of The Lost Light, and Ready at Dawn, the developer of The Order 1886. However, there has also been speculation that Sony may buy Remedy, Blue Dot Studios or Kojima’s Kojima Productions.
New consoles from Sony and Microsoft have confirmed they will be available by the end of the year.
