On the platform of the London Underground, a momentary image of a rat fight helped its photographer win the prize, media reported. Wildlife photographer Sam Rowley won the 55th Wildlife Photographer of the Year award at the Lumix People’s Choice Award for this photo, which is known as Station Squabble.
Note: Lumix is a digital camera brand owned by Panasonic.
Hosted by the Natural History Museum in London, Station Squabble beat 48,000 contestants and won the top prize from 25 finalists.
As for why the photo is so popular, the photographer, Rowley, has his own opinion — “I think it’s so popular and it’s relevant.” Everyone knows mice, but do they know them in this way? I hope I can give people a new understanding of an ordinary species. “
Rowley is understood to have spent five nights lying on the ground at the metro station. But he would not say exactly where the photo was taken.
Now, Rowley is selling this winning photo of him. And he plans to keep in close contact with the animal kingdom. “I intend to launch wildlife photo projects in the UK and cities around the world this year. “
