Tesla Motors (Beijing) Co., Ltd. has decided to recall 3,183 imported Model X series cars manufactured between April 15, 2016 and October 16, 2016, starting June 7, 2016, the State Administration of Market Supervision and Administration said in a statement posted on its website.

According to reports, some vehicles within the scope of this recall in the long-term exposure to highly corrosive environmentsuchs such as strong de-icing salts, the steering motor fixed to the steering machine housing bolts may be corroded and broken, resulting in the steering motor shift, transmission belt slip, resulting in a reduction or loss of steering power, may increase the risk of collision of vehicles there is a security risk. Tesla Motors (Beijing) Co., Ltd. will replace new steering steel bolts free of charge for vehicles covered by the recall and add an anti-corrosion coating to the steering motor housing and motor retention bolts;
