In late January, Shen Yiren, vice president of OPPO, unveiled a rendering of OPPO’s first smartwatch, with a flexible screen and curved curved design, and said it was “probably the most expensive smartwatch of the year.” Based on the rendering, letsGoDigital, a well-known Dutch technology media, invited Dutch 3D designer Jermaine Smit (aka Concept Creator) to design 3D rendering images to give us a more intuitive understanding of the watch.
Only a handful of manufacturers currently sell smartwatches and smartphones at the same time, and the best performers are Apple, the iPhone and apple Watch. Then there’s Samsung’s Watch Active 2 and Huawei’s Watch GT2, while lg, another Android maker, doesn’t offer a new model. Xiaomi, the domestic manufacturer, recently announced its first watch, the Mi Watch, and ONEPlus, OPPO’s sister company, announced that it would release its first watch this year.
There are two trends in smartwatches, one with Huawei and Samsung as the circular pie, and the other is Apple’s Square Pie. Apparently, Xiaomi, OPPO and the upcoming OnePlus have all chosen the latter.
Compared to the Apple Watch, the OPPO smartwatch removes the crown section and instead provides two control buttons with AN LED notification light on the lower button. The microphone appears to be between the two control buttons. This means you can also make calls without smartphone intervention.
The watch has a shiny gold shell and is shown in the rendering as a silicone strap. It is not clear whether standard strap replacement is supported. The internal specifications of the OPPO smartwatch are not yet known, but OPPO has previously introduced artificial intelligence and a number of sensors, confirming that it will be equipped with ECG sensors (eCG) that can measure blood pressure and heart rate.
It is unclear whether Oppo will also offer a GPS chip for the wearable device, or whether it has chosen the so-called “shared GPS” mode. You can at least assume that you have a fitness tracker and the likelihood of knowing calories. The ability to achieve better sleep quality will certainly not go away.
Information on battery life is not yet known, but given OPPO’s unique aspects of battery life and fast charging, we should not be disappointed in this regard. It is not clear how the smartwatch will sell for, and is expected to be released along with the OPPO Find X2.
