Nevada’s Democratic Party said Thursday it plans to use an iPad with the survey app Google Forms to calculate the outcome of next week’s party primaries,media reported. The system is designed to avoid the chaos of the Iowa caucuses.
The app will be installed on 2,000 iPads purchased by the party and distributed to the chair of district delegates, according to a memo signed Thursday by Democratic Party Executive Director Alana Mounce, seen by The Associated Press. Google’s app will calculate and submit electronic results.
“Our guiding principle sits in choosing the best way forward is safety, efficiency and simplicity,” Mounce said in the memo. We understand how important it is to address this issue and protect the fairness of the Nevada electorate. “
