NASA has praised SpaceX, saying it will be the first U.S. company to send humans into space in its commercial manned program, media reported. So the competition between SpaceX and Boeing is nearing its end. SpaceX is understood to have waited until a few months to send humans into space. Two astronauts, Dough Hurley and Bob Behnken, will be responsible for the mission.
One of NASA’s main goals now is to send U.S. astronauts to the space station without relying on Russian rockets, so it has hired Boeing and SpaceX to design manned spacecraft that can meet that need.
While most analysts had earlier thought Boeing would be the first company to get NASA’s approval to send humans into space, it became increasingly clear that SpaceX had achieved a landmark breakthrough faster than its competitors.
Now, with 2020 approaching, NASA desperately needs a vehicle that will send astronauts into space, and SpaceX looks set to be the first to cross the finish line. It is reported that the launch is expected to take place in early May, when if successful it will certainly be recorded in history.
