Mysterious signals from the universe Harvard astronomer: May come from a wise civilization

Recently, according tomedia reports, Canadian astronomers published in the Aqif paper preprinted this website of a new study, the first detection of a certain degree of activity of the “rapid radio storm” (FRB). Using the Canadian Hydrogen Intensity Mapping Experiment Telescope, the researchers observed that intense radio waves emit from the depths of the universe by periodic ity, the first time a periodic-patterned rapid radio storm has been detected and called FRB 180916.J0158-65.

The mysterious, regular nature of these two characteristics quickly attracted a lot of media attention, to which Harvard astronomer Abraham Loeb suggested in an interview that the mysterious FRB may be the product of a wise civilization.

Abraham Loeb says we don’t have a telescope to discover the nature of FRBs, so all possibilities, including those from the civilized world, should be considered.

For some to speculate that FRBs are aliens trying to communicate with us, Loeb thinks this is not realistic, because when it takes millions of years to receive a response, sending a message across the universe makes little sense, and it doesn’t take that much to communicate with a planet closer to Earth.

Loeb argues that the more likely explanation is that the civilized world uses super-powerful beams of energy to propel spacecraft through the universe, and that it must be a very advanced civilization to achieve this technology.

Rapid radio storms are short, violent bursts of radio waves that suddenly appear in distant universes, lasting very short, usually in only a few milliseconds, but releasing the equivalent of the energy released by the sun throughout the day.
