Jetman makes history again: high-speed flight to 1800m after take-off

The Jetman team has reached another shocking milestone, with pilot Vince Reffet demonstrating the ability to fly into the sky with four turbo engines that take off from the ground and open the carbon wings, media reported. The team demonstrated how to transition from a balanced hover state to an ultra-fast flight over Dubai on Valentine’s Day, following the demonstration of autonomous vertical takeoff and landing last December.

The winged flight capability sets the Jetman team apart from other jet-powered personal flight equipment because it allows for more efficient flight and some great acrobatic flight at high speeds of up to 400 km/h.

From the video, Reffet can be seen making a brief mid-flight after take-off, before he opens the air throttle to an altitude of 1800 meters and makes some nice flight moves over Dubai before Reffet safely returns to the ground.

The entire flight lasted only three minutes, reflecting the jet’s super-high flight speed on the wing.
