Tim Cook sent an internal letter to the full staff on Monday encouraging them to work together to overcome difficulties during a global public health event. I want to thank you for your dedication, commitment, understanding and care. Today, we have more than doubled our contributions in support of historic and global health events.
Our primary concern is the friends of Apple employees, partners, customers and suppliers in China. Many of our team work around the clock and represent Apple in a diligent and thoughtful manner in dealing with COVID-19 emergencies.
Company offices and contact centers have reopened across China and our stores have begun to reopen, but we are experiencing a slower return to normal cynnby than we expected. This afternoon, I shared this update with the shareholder and investor community and noted that we do not expect to meet our revenue guidance for the March quarter. Outside of China, our customer demand in our product and service categories has been strong to date, meeting our expectations. Apple is fundamentally powerful, and this damage to our business is only temporary.
Our immediate and eternal priority is the health and safety of our employees, supply chain partners, customers and the communities in which we operate. We would like to express our deep gratitude to those on the front lines of this public health emergency.
