Apple released its new film” “Swan Song” on Wednesday at Apple TV Plus, starring two-time Academy Award winner Mahershala Ali, according tomedia. Benjamin Cleary, the director and screenwriter who won an Oscar for Best Live Short in 2016 for his short film Stutterer, was also involved in the film.
Set in the future, the story explores the extent to which people will bring a happier life to the people they love. Ali, who has starred in “Moonlight Boys” and “The Green Book,” played the lead role in the film, Milo.
The film will be produced by Adam Shulman and Jacob Perlin of Anonymous Content and will enter production this spring. Ali is also the producer of the film.
Like other new Apple TV-and-original movies, “Swan Song” will be released in theaters before the Apple streaming service goes live.
