Last week, Microsoft unveiled a new batch of its icon suites and deployed them to Windows Insiders on Fast Ring. These icons are based on fluent design concepts, similar to the new Office icons introduced last year. But now, almost all Windows first-party applications from Microsoft are being remade.
Starting today, users find that some of these icons are being rolled out to non-insiders. Mail and Calendar Suite apps are being quickly updated to all users, and it is assumed that chart improvements for other apps will soon be available.
To the great cause, the new icon’s tiles are blue, not transparent. This means that the icon effect slots from custom Windows 10 in a non-default state to other theme colors may be a little incongruous.
If you want to see the effect a little faster, just update your Store app to open the Microsoft Store, go to Download and Update, and then click Get Update.
