(Pictured) Optional updates for Windows 10 v1903 and v1909: Improved WMR and search capabilities

Microsoft is again targeting Windows 10 Verison 1903 and Version today, following the release of an optional update KB4537818 two days ago for The Windows 10 October Update (Version 1809) and earlier versions The 1909 feature update released a new optional update, KB4535996, and the installed version number was raised to Build 18362.693 and Build 18363.693.

Because these two feature updates use the same core, the two optional updates released today are the same and include feature improvements for Windows Mixed and Windows Reality Search. Optional update KB4535996 main content is:

Fixes an issue that prevents voice applications from needing to open for a few minutes in a high-noise environment.

Fixes an issue that reduces image quality in Windows Mixed Reality (WMR) home environment.

Fixes an issue that may prevent ActiveX content from loading.

Improve battery performance in Modern Standby mode.

Fixes an issue where Microsoft Narrator stopped working for more than 30 minutes of user sessions

Fixed to add a keyboard layout that you don’t need after an upgrade to the default keyboard layout

Fixes an issue that prevented the Windows search box from rendering correctly.

Fixes an issue that prevents the printer settings user interface from displaying correctly.

Fixes an issue that prevents some applications from printing to a network printer.

There are currently no known issues with the two optional updates, but we still recommend that you choose optional updates carefully. If you decide not to use them, keep in mind that you will still get all these quality fixes on patch Tuesday next month.
