It’s been a while since the iPhone 11 Series went on sale in China, and while the launch was once unpopular due to a lack of 5G support features, iPhone 11 is dependent on policies such as strong product highlights, attractive iOS ecology, proper pricing strategies and trade-in The series has begun to prove its worth.
I bought an iPhone 11 Pro on my first day and experienced it for a few days before it had a great feeling for its “three-camera system”, and after the National Day holiday, when I went to Shangri-La with the iPhone 11 Pro, the natural landscape of the area completely unleashed the full potential of the three cameras. I just press the shutter as much as I can, and the iPhone 11 Pro is responsible for delivering one big “big picture” after another that attracts countless likes.
Of course, in addition to the three-camera system, the iPhone 11 Pro has many real-life features that enhance the experience, such as the A13 power management and the addition of a larger battery, to cure the “one-day-a-day” problem from the iPhone XS.
After that, I had the privilege of experiencing the iPhone 11.
In terms of price, the two models have already opened a gap, with the difference at least one iPhone 8 making it impossible for them to reach the same level, and Apple clearly has no plans to do so. Since the iPhone X took the full screen, Apple needs a “ground-grounded” model to maintain the iPhone’s market share in the face of the soaring iPhone price tag, which took on the burden of last year’s iPhone XR and this year’s iPhone 11.
With only a slight difference, the iPhone 11 looks “scented” under a pricing strategy that starts at $1,000 less than last year’s iPhone XR.
So for this year’s iPhone 11 Series, will the price gap be a key hand in the real experience, apart from differences in screen craftsmanship and screen size?
If you are still in the state of not knowing which model to buy, you may wish to use this article to the next “determination”.
6.1-inch may be the best size for a full-screen phone
Like last year’s three-machine formation, this year’s iPhone 11 Series also includes the 6.5-inch iPhone 11 Pro Max, the 6.1-inch iPhone 11, and the 5.8-inch iPhone 11 Pro with the smallest screen.
Since the iPhone X, I’ve believed that the 5.8-inch model is the best size for a full-screen iPhone, because it’s able to display more images than the iPhone 8 Plus (5.5 inches) on top of the three-frame size and the iPhone 8’s rough range.
This is the best solution for some of the big-screen models that previously yearned for Plus models, but can’t stand the large-size three-in-the-wall “choice-difficultpatients” that come with them.
By contrast, while the iPhone 11 Pro Max’s screen is at an all-time high of 6.5 inches, it also bodes well for the one-handed operation, not to mention the weight gain from this year’s iPhone 11 Series due to increased battery capacity. To catch up with half a kilo of weight will inevitably become a pocket of “burden”.
But with the launch of the iPhone XR last year, my view has gradually changed: 6.1 inches may be the best size for a full-screen iPhone.
Compare the three models of the iPhone 11 series and you’ll find what I say:
Screen size: iPhone 11 Pro Max (6.5 inches) iPhone 11 (6.1 inches) iPhone 11 Pro (5.8 inches)
Dimensions: iPhone 11 Pro Max (approximately equal to iPhone 8 Plus) iPhone 11 IPhone 11 Pro (approximately equal to iPhone 8)
What you can find is that the iPhone 11 is between the iPhone 8 Plus and the iPhone 8, but the screen size is larger than the 5.5-inch iPhone 8 Plus and the 5.8-inch iPhone 11 Pro.
I used to find that sometimes a 5.8-inch screen would nvary when I was using the iPhone XS and the iPhone 11 Pro, especially when you’re playing big games or working with documents.
By contrast, the iPhone 11’s 6.1-inch screen is more appropriate, with more content and the size and weight of the entire machine not too exaggerated, balancing the iPhone 11 Pro with the iPhone 11 Pro Max.
But in addition to the balance between screen size and phone size, the iPhone 11’s other screen parameters are actually inferior to the iPhone 11 Pro.
Because the iPhone 11 is made of LCD compared to the OLED screen used in the iPhone 11 Pro, which Apple calls “Liquid Retina.”
Compared to the iPhone 11 Pro with a self-illuminating OLED screen, the LCD screen of the iPhone 11 relies on the backlight at the bottom of the screen to shine, which also results in some differences in the look and feel of the two models.
For example, when displaying a pure black image or footage, you can clearly feel that the OLED screen of the iPhone 11 Pro is more likely to show the “pure” of black. By contrast, the LCD screen of the iPhone 11 emits faint white floodlight because it doesn’t glow.
From a look and feel, the iPhone 11 Pro with lcd screen is not much different in color from the OLED screen, and looks softer, with fewer OLED screens occasionally too bright to cause eye-popping problems.
But the screen craft may not be the iPhone 11’s biggest short board, and resolution and pixel density may be the biggest compromise:
– The iPhone 11 Pro Max has a screen resolution of 1242 x 1688 and a pixel density of 458 ppi;
– The iPhone 11 Pro has a screen resolution of 1125 x 2436 and a pixel density of 458 ppi;
– IPhone 11 has a screen resolution of 828 x 1792 and a pixel density of 326 ppi
As you can see, the iPhone 11 has a 6.1-inch screen pixel density of just 4.7 inches, even lower than the 401 ppi of the Plus family. If you’re transitioning from the iPhone 8 Plus to the iPhone 11, it may take some time for the middle screen detail to drop.
“If you can’t see pixels, the resolution doesn’t really make much sense in a sense. Philip W. Schiller, Apple’s vice president of global marketing, said in response to the iPhone XR resolution. Today’s iPhone 11 has almost the same screen quality as the iPhone XR, and you can use this phrase as well.
But the premise is that you’re using your phone far enough to feel the “particle” effect of the low pixel density of the screen once you’re bringing your iPhone 11 closer together. At this point, the iPhone 11 Pro doesn’t have that concern, no matter how close you are to your phone’s screen, you’ll feel the subtle display.
Three and two, where’s the gap?
Starting this year with the iPhone 11 Pro series, the iPhone has officially entered the “three-shot era.” The wide-angle lens and telephoto lens, which was inherited from the 2016 iPhone 7 Plus, was officially upgraded to “wide-angle lens plus telephoto lens plus ultra-wide-angle lens”, which Apple calls the “Pro-class camera system.”
The iPhone 11, on the other hand, has been upgraded to a dual camera system consisting of a wide-angle lens and an ultra-wide-angle lens, both of which are 12 megapixels and have the same optical quality as the iPhone 11 Pro’s wide-angle and ultra-wide-angle lenses.
The only difference is that the iPhone 11 Pro comes with an extra telephoto lens, fivex optical zoom and up to tenx digital zoom, compared to the iPhone 11, which can only rely on a wide-angle lens for digital zoom, and a maximum of five times the multiplier.
From the two sets of contrasting photos below, you can clearly see the gap in zoom quality between the iPhone 11 and the iPhone 11 Pro, the first of which was taken by the iPhone 11 With the iPhone 11 on the fivex digital zoom and the iPhone 11 Pro with fivex optical zoom on, and the second group is the fivex on The code zoom was taken by the iPhone 11 and the iPhone 11 Pro with 10x digital zoom on.
There’s no doubt that the iPhone 11 Pro with a telephoto lens has left the iPhone 11 far behind, and the iPhone 11 Pro is doing much better, both in terms of picture resolution and graphic detail.
And, compared to the previous generation of iPhone XS series with telephoto lenses, the iPhone 11 Pro’s telephoto lens has been upgraded from a aperture of 2.4 to a 2.0, and while still not comparable to the wide-angle lens’s s/1.8, it’s a significant improvement.
The larger telephoto lens of the aperture also provides a better picture quality performance than the previous generation, especially in dark light environments or when taking portraits of portraits, the advantages of large apertures are more pronounced.
Although the iPhone 11 lacks the long-focus lens, the addition of the ultra-wide angle gives it more creative space.
Both the iPhone 11 Pro and the iPhone 11 have a 12 million ultra-wide camera, and with a view range of four times the 120-degree viewing angle, the panoramic view is twice as high as the original, greatly expanding the space for the phone to take pictures. Ultra-wide-angle lenses often play a greater role in recording spectacular scenes, tall buildings, or in small spaces.
In my opinion, because of its special optical properties and imaging style, ultra-wide angle is much more difficult to handle than telephoto lens and wide-angle lens, but in terms of “hardware properties”, the importance of ultra-wide-angle lens should be greater than telephoto lens.
Because it’s hard for you to “beautify” a picture taken with a wide-angle lens through later or chip calculations, which makes no sense in physical nature. The optical zoom photo taken by the telephoto lens can achieve the effect of optical zoom to a certain extent by adjusting the clarity or multi-frame synthesis at a later stage. Apple’s “deep fusion” introduced in iPhone 11 this year, for example, is an example of “digital photography” that uses “digital photography” to make up for hardware shorts, which can record more picture detail (which we call clarity) through multi-frame synthesis techniques.
The following two contrasting photos are wide-angle and ultra-wide-angle field of view, without the need to move the motive bit, ultra-wide-angle lens can be shot a wider field of view, which is wide-angle lens and telephoto lens can not be reached.
In terms of imaging quality, the ultra-wide-angle photos of the iPhone 11 and iPhone 11 Pro stand out in a well-lit environment, and their imaging style is basically the same as the wide-angle lens. But once in an under-lightenvironment environment, the imaging of ultra-wide-angle lenses can be significantly reduced.
In addition to the ultra-wide angle, this generation of iPhone 11 also introduced “night mode”, which is a long-standing wish for many fruit powders. But unlike the “night mode” of other Android phones on the market today, the night mode of the iPhone 11 series is even deeper.
First, the “night mode” of the iPhone 11 series cannot be started manually and will only turn on automatically when the light is perceived to be dark, but you can choose not to use night mode or to have a longer exposure time (more than 1 to 3 seconds in normal automatic mode).
When the shutter is pressed, there is a wait time of 1 second to up to 30 seconds, after which the system will output a best night effect photo. And when you turn on this mode, the noise and detailin of the photo will be noticeable, in addition to the brightness of the final photo.

What should I do for the iPhone 11 and iPhone 11 Pro?
The current prices for the two models start at 8699 yuan and 5499 yuan on Apple’s official website, with a difference of 3000 yuan, which also triggered the “three thousand yuan a camera” joke in the early days.
But is the hardware gap between the iPhone 11 Pro and the iPhone 11 really worth the $3,000 extra you’ve to choose the former?
I think it’s mainly up to your needs. With Apple cutting the starting price of the iPhone 11 this year, it’s down nearly a thousand dollars from last year’s iPhone XR, a sweet spot for the price, with an overall price-to-value ratio higher than the iPhone 11 Pro series.
But if you have a special obsession with mobile photography, then obviously only the three-camera iPhone 11 Pro can give you more creative space, after all, this year’s telephoto lens upgrade is very sincere.
As for the larger screen size iPhone 11 Pro Max, I personally don’t recommend it very much. For one thing, the half-pound weight after the case is worn can affect the phone’s lightweight experience, and this year’s three iPhones have been added to the dual-card dual-card support, so the competitiveness of the iPhone 11 Pro Max has weakened, as evidenced by domestic and international sales.
For most people, the iPhone 11 is probably the perfect model. The price of around 5000 yuan will allow you to experience a full-screen iPhone, but also an ultra-wide-angle camera, A13 bionic chip, longer battery life, dual-card dual wait.
Not to mention that during the Double Eleven period, major e-commerce platforms, including Apple’s official Taobao stores, have certain preferential activities, basically can buy new machines at a price of less than 5000 yuan.
