Tesla’s new car number in January 2020 was 3,563, about the average monthly number of vehicles in 2019, according to the latest motor vehicle insurance data. Domestic Model 3 accounts for 73%
Although the domestic Model 3 has already undergone small-scale internal deliveries by the end of 2019, it was only on January 7, 2020, that Tesla officially delivered the domestic Model 3 to social users on a large scale. Counting the January Spring Festival holiday, the domestic Model 3 had a maximum of 17 days of mass delivery, and eventually got 2,605 cars, or 73% of Tesla’s total number of cards in January.
Four days before the massive delivery of the domestic Model 3, a domestic Model 3 official drop also helped boost sales. Imports of high-end models fell sharply
Among the imported models, the Model 3 still accounted for the largest proportion of sales, with 578 models imported in January. However, with the future of the domestic Model 3 long-range version of the model, imported Model 3 is bound to be more marginal in sales.
Tesla’s other two imported models, the Model S and model X, will total 1,910 and 8,621 vehicles for the full year of 2019. In January, they had just 13 and 367, well below last year’s average.
