Billionaire Michael Bloomberg’s presidential campaign bought at least $1 million worth of prime-time advertising on Sunday night, according tomedia Outlet The Verge. He spoke vaguely about the threat of a new coronavirus.
Bloomberg’s ad airs at 8:30 p.m. ET on CBS and NBC. The New York Times reported Saturday that the ad could cost Bloomberg’s campaign $1.25 million to $3 million.
In the three-minute ad, Mr. Bloomberg is in a position that looks very similar to the Oval Office in the White House. He wore an American flag brooch when he spoke to the American public about the coronavirus.
“I know it’s been a very worrying week for many Americans,” Bloomberg said in the ad. New coronaviruses are spreading and the economy is being hit. The market fell because of uncertainty. At such times, it is the President’s job to assure the public that he or she is taking all necessary steps to protect the health of every citizen. “
Bloomberg has yet to win a major election. He has spent millions of dollars on television and social media ads ahead of the crucial Super Tuesday primary to raise his profile among voters.
